Database Engineering & Scaling
Data that stays fast, consistent and recoverable at scale. We tune, scale, replicate and migrate the databases that enterprises run on, so data stays fast at peak load and recoverable when something goes wrong.
When data outgrows its structure
Databases are usually designed for the business as it was, not as it became. As volumes grow, queries that took milliseconds start taking seconds, a single primary server becomes a single point of failure, and nightly jobs no longer finish before morning.
Backups exist, but nobody has restored one recently. Copies of the same data live in several systems and disagree with each other. The database has become the bottleneck for every new initiative.
Deliberate data architecture
We begin with evidence: query plans, workload patterns and growth projections. From there we choose the right structure for the next stage of growth, whether that is indexing and query redesign, read replicas, partitioning or a sharding strategy built around your access patterns.
High availability is designed and tested, not assumed. We set up replication and automated failover, rehearse migrations against production-sized data, introduce data contracts between systems and run regular restore drills so recovery is a practiced procedure.
Capabilities
What we deliver
Performance tuning
Query, index and configuration optimization based on real workload analysis.
Sharding and partitioning
Horizontal scaling strategies designed around how your data is actually read and written.
High availability and replication
Replica topologies and automated failover that keep services available through node and zone failures.
Database migration and upgrades
Version upgrades and platform moves, rehearsed end to end with verified data and planned cutover windows.
Data platform consolidation
Change-data-capture and canonical models that bring siloed data together without disrupting source systems.
Backup, recovery and DR
Backup policies, point-in-time recovery and disaster-recovery runbooks that are tested on a schedule.

Engagement
How an engagement runs
1. Discover
We profile workloads, growth trends, failure history and recovery capability across your data estate.
2. Design
We define the scaling, availability and recovery architecture, with measurable targets for each.
3. Build & Integrate
We implement changes incrementally, verifying performance and data integrity at every step.
4. Run & Support
We monitor capacity and performance, run restore drills and plan the next stage of growth ahead of need.
Industries
Where this matters most
Retail & E-commerce
One version of stock, orders and customers across every channel.
Manufacturing
From shop-floor signals to boardroom decisions, in one ordered flow.
Banking, Financial Services & Insurance
Modern digital services on top of core systems you can trust.
Healthcare & Life Sciences
Clinical data that flows safely to wherever care happens.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
When does a database need sharding?
Later than most teams think. Indexing, query design, caching and read replicas solve many scaling problems at lower cost. We recommend sharding when write volume or data size genuinely exceeds what a well-tuned single primary can handle.
How do you migrate a database with minimal disruption?
We use replication or change-data-capture to keep the new database in sync, verify data continuously, rehearse the cutover and switch over in a short, planned window with a tested way back.
Which databases do you support?
PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB and Redis, along with streaming platforms such as Kafka for moving data between them.
How do you handle sensitive data?
We work within your access controls, use masked or synthetic data in non-production environments wherever possible, and follow your security and compliance policies throughout.
